“A Heartfelt Thanks to LUMS Where the Blood Camp was held in Aid of our little Warriors Who are Winning the Battle with Thalassemia."
Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), which remains one of the courted universities in Pakistan, has recently organized a rather sensational, two-day blood donation camp for children suffering from thalassemia. Students along with teachers and even the support staff all contributed and came in a heartfelt spirit of giving to donate blood for a worthy cause. The team of Noor Thalassemia Foundation together with the Director, Sajid Cheema thanks all those who participated in this event and all that contributed towards its success. It was indeed a day of hope as a lot of people came to the event striving to help change the lives of these young fighters for the better.
Thalassemia is a genetic condition affecting blood, in which the Haemoglobin, the red pigment in blood that facilitates the oxygen transport in red blood cells, produced in an abnormal shape or in an inadequate quantity. This causes a rapid breakdown of red blood cells causing anemia, tiredness, many medical problems associate with deficiency of oxygen in the body.
From the year 2015, the Noor Thalassemia Foundation has been constantly and tirelessly working to give needy children with thalassemia free of cost treatments, blood, and essential medicines. Our mission is continuous and never-changing; that is to make Pakistan a thalassemia-free country. We are fortunate enough to have received loads of donations to help thousands of children receive necessary treatments, no matter the complications in their financial conditions.
